Abstract:

This study aims to measure the youth’s death knowledge and approaches to death, to make comparisons with a series of variables according to the frequency of thinking of death, to investigate how much the current perception of death in the West has influenced the perception of death in the still modernizing Turkish society and how much the perception of death in the old societies still dominates in the society. In this direction, the young generation of university students, the most important representative of the modern age, are intended to be studied and evaluated in what direction the perception of death takes and compared to the traditional perception. In the context of this study, a research was conducted by applying the survey technique with 116 bachelor students who studied in the Faculty of Sciences and Literature of Sakarya University. The data obtained from the study, the SPSS program was used and the 95% confidence range for statistical analysis, p=05 significance level was taken into account.
