The aim of this study is to investigate the knowledge and attitude levels of pre-service science teachers towards nanotechnology. The sample of this research consists of 270 students studying in the science teaching department of a state university in the Central Anatolia Region in the spring term of the 2020-2021 academic year. In this study, which was conducted with a scanning design, the Nano Science Scale (NBÖ) consisting of 28 items in 3-likert type and the Nanotechnology Attitude Scale (NTÖ) consisting of 25 items in 5-likert type were used. Descriptive statistics, independent samples t-test and ANOVA analysis results regarding the data obtained from the scales applied to the pre-service teachers were examined. While the total scores of the pre-service teachers from NBÖ did not show a significant difference in terms of grade level (F(3,215)=0.5, p>0.05), a significant difference was found between the total attitude scores they got from NTÖ in favor of the 4th grade (p<0.05). When examined in terms of gender, no statistically significant difference was found between the mean scores of pre-service teachers in both NBÖ and NTÖ. It was observed that there was a moderate and negative correlation (r=-0.35, p<0.001) between the knowledge and attitude levels of pre-service teachers regarding nanotechnology. According to this result, it was concluded that as the knowledge levels of pre-service teachers increased, their attitudes towards nanotechnology did not increase. According to the results of the research, various suggestions were made to increase the knowledge and attitudes of pre-service science teachers.
