Abstract:

In light of the developments in the world, the needs of people are changing every day, and in parallel with this the importance of reading skills is increasing and the teaching programs need to be updated in order for students to be able to adapt to the new developments; it is important that the reading activities in the curriculum books are in the quality of achieving the reading achievements. For this reason, the research conducted in the secondary school Turkish curriculum has designed to study the conformity of reading activities in the 2019 Turkish curriculum with the reading achievements, research-qualitative research patterns designed as a situation study. The documents of the research are made up of Turkish lesson books at the high school level. The data was collected with a chart created by the researcher, the analysis of the data was carried out by illustrating the distribution of the achievements at each class level within the activities. The research has found that there are disproportion in the distribution of reading activities to reading achievements, and that the activities are not in a harmony that will meet all reading achievements.
