Türkiye’deki fıkıh ve fıkıh tarihi alanındaki akademik çalışmalar ekseriyetle Hanefîlik mezhebi etrafında gelişmiştir. Yakın zamanda farklı mezhep çalışmaları ile bu temayül değişmiş ve fıkıh çalışmaları zenginleşmiştir. Kecia Ali’nin İmam Şâfiî’nin hayat hikayesini kaleme aldığı bu eserin tercümesi ise Şâfiî mezhebi çalışmalarına katkı sağlamıştır. İmam Şâfiî’nin doğumundan vefatına kadar olan hayat hikayesini, ilmi serüvenini, eserlerini ve dönemin ilmi, siyasi ve içtimai ortamını veciz bir üslupla kaleme alan müellif Şâfiî ve dönemi hakkında genel bir kanaat oluşturmayı başarmıştır.
Academic studies in the field of fiction and fiction history in Turkey have evolved around the Hanefîlik philosophy. Recently, with various religious studies, this theme has changed and the fictional works have become richer. The translation of the work that Kecia Ali has written on Imam Shafi’s life story has contributed to the Shafi’s religious work. The author, who wrote the life story of Imam Shafi’i from his birth to his death, his scholarly work, his works and the scientific, political and social environment of the period in a concise style, succeeded in forming a general opinion about Shafi`i and his period.
