Abstract:

It is seen that foreign trade regarded as an important determinant of regional and urban development has shown an increase in Turkish economy since 1980. However, export and import values are seen to have become different at regional and urban level in Turkey. It can be stated that the provinces where export and import figures per capita are high are generally in the developed regions while the provinces where these values are low are in underdeveloped regions.                 According to the result of the study in which average export and import figures per capita between 2007-2015 are analyzed based on the provinces separately, it can be said that there is a spatial interaction in Turkish economy on a provincial basis in terms of these figures and this spatial interaction occurs positively for some provinces but negatively for others.
