Abstract:

The aim of this research is to develop a scale aimed at determining the level of competence of the Turkish teachers in technology, education and field knowledge. The study’s work group consists of 497 Turkish teachers who work in the state schools in the Antalya province and district centers in the 2019-2020 educational year and participate voluntarily. The data collected from 268 teachers in the study group were used in the analysis of the opening factor, and the data collected from 231 teachers were used in the analysis of the verifying factor. The scale is made up of 5 dimensions and 46 items, including Technology-supported Pedagogical and Field Information, Pedagogical Field Information, Technology Information, Field Information and Pedagogical Information. The reliability ratings in terms of Cronbach α internal consistency, calculated in the AFA result, were fixed in order as 0.95, 0.92, 0.85, 0.84, 0.85. According to the verifying factor analysis results, it was calculated as χ2/sd 2.12, CFI 0.97, RMSEA 0.070, NFI 0.94 and NNFI 0.96. The reliability ratings in terms of internal consistency, calculated in the DFA result, were set as 0.95, 0.93, 0.77, 0.83, 0.87. When the results are assessed, the validity and reliability of the scale is provided and the Turkish teachers can show the level of competence in the Technical Pedagogical Field Knowledge.
