Abstract:

The relationship between architecture and concepts is defined and interpreted by various narratives in the historical process. The philosophical formations that direct the architectural concepts are also one of the movements of this work. For architecture, the concept has also again been expressed in history with changing mental and formal assessments. In this study, the objective is to problematize the place of repeat in the current architecture, and to produce a formal reading through repeat in Gilles Deleuze's philosophy. At this point, first, the conceptual framework of the work was established in light of the statements that Deleuze reiterated. Secondly, a general evaluation of repetition in architecture was made in view of seeing the change in the design thought of repetition. Finally, some contemporary architects repeatedly discussed the change of conception. Contemporary architectural approaches that refer to Deleuze's re-approximation have been addressed in particular. In the study, the new meaning of recurrence for architecture, the perspective it offers and the contribution to creative thinking in architecture was evaluated by reading by the design approaches of contemporary architects. From here, it has been observed that repeatedly revealing the difference has become a form of expression in the design approaches in contemporary architecture.
