Edebiyatla ilgili sosyal yaklaşımlar; edebiyatın tek başına var olmadığı düşüncesiyle edebî esere yaklaşır. Edebiyat eseri, sanatçının sosyal bir varlık olarak yaşadığı sosyal çevrenin içinde doğduğu ilkesinden hareket eder. Bu bağlamda edebiyat sosyolojisi de edebiyat eserini yazıldığı çevre, içinde var olduğu sosyal ortam ve şartlarla birlikte anlamaya ve açıklamaya çalışır. Yazarların iç dünyalarını saran her şey, toplumla ve sosyal hayattan akseden durumlarla anlam kazanır. Bu nedenle roman ve hikâyelerde seçilen zaman ve mekânlarının simgesel anlam çağrışımları olduğunun altını çizmek gerekir. Bu çalışmada incelenen romanlarda toplumsal ahlâkın bozulması ve sonunda bireyin kendisinin bile farkına varamadığı değişim ve dönüşüm, roman tipleri üzerinden açıklanır. Romanda yer alan tipler, toplumun belli bir kesimini temsil eder. Roman tipleri üzerinden dönemsel sosyal, siyasal olay ve olgular keşfedilebilir. Eserlerde çeşitli kurgulamalar ve göndermeler rehberliğinde bireylerin ve devletin gelgitlerle dolu yaşamları söz konusudur. Dönemin şartları üzerinden değerlendirmenin bahsi geçen eserlerin daha iyi anlaşılmasına katkı sağlayacağı açıktır. Sosyal hayatla ilişkisi olan eserlerin, insana ve topluma yönelik bir mesaj verdiğini de söylemek mümkündür. Öncelikle yazarın hayatı, dünya görüşü, yaşam tarzı, tecrübeleri üzerinde yoğunlaşmak metinlerin içeriklerinin çözümlenmesinde etkili olacaktır. Eserlerin yazarıyla ilişkilendirilmesi, sosyolojik okumaya zenginlik katan bir özelliktir. Böylece eserler, yalnızca kendi gerçekliği içinde değil, diğer gerçekliklerle ilişkilendirilerek ele alınır ve farklı anlamlara bürünür. Bu yönüyle, edebiyat eserinin sanatçı, okur, toplumla ilişkisi ve etkileşimi sosyolojik okumalar için önemli değerlendirme yolu olacaktır.
The social approach to literature approaches the literary work with the idea that literature does not exist alone. The literary work moves from the principle that the artist is born within the social environment in which he lives as a social being. In this context, literary sociology also tries to understand and explain the environment in which the literary work is written, the social environment and conditions in which it exists. Everything that presents the inner worlds of the writers gets meaning in situations that are different from society and social life. Therefore, it is necessary to point out that the time and places chosen in the novels and stories are symbolic meaning calls. In the novels studied in this study, the disruption of social morality and eventually the change and transformation that the individual cannot even realize, is explained through the types of novels. The types in the novel represent a certain part of society. Through the types of novels, periodic social, political events and events can be discovered. In the works of various institutions and submissions, the guidance of individuals and the state is the subject of life full of arrivals. It is clear that the assessment of the conditions of the period will contribute to the better understanding of the works mentioned. It is also possible to say that works that are related to social life give a message to man and society. First of all, focusing on the writer’s life, worldview, lifestyle, experiences will be effective in the analysis of the contents of the texts. Relating the works to the author is a feature that adds wealth to sociological reading. Thus, works are treated not only within their own reality, but also in relation to other realities, and they have different meanings. In this regard, the relationship and interaction of the literary work with the artist, the reader, and society will be an important way of assessment for sociological readings.
