Abstract:

One of the most important issues in the Ottoman history, which is frequently experienced and often faced by the state’s internal and external dangers, is undoubtedly the experience of brother struggles for the throne. In fact, the most obvious and remarkable of the brother struggles in the Ottoman history was Yavuz Sultan Selim's throne struggle. Especially the II. By the end of Bayezid's rule, the old age and the fall of the patient during this process have caused a number of failures in the state affairs. In order to remove this misconduct that occurred in the Ottoman throne, the towns have taken action without permission from the center. In this process, Selim was the largest candidate of the throne and afterwards, with the effort he demonstrated in the military struggle as well as strategically. The main objective of the study is to address the throne struggle between Selim and his brothers in the light of new documents and to contribute to previous studies on the subject. In this direction, the archives of the Topkapı Palace Museum have not previously been used as well as letters have been used. Except for letters, it was used from chronicals and second-hand sources to ensure the integrity of the subject.
