In this study, the surface of pure zirconium was covered by microark oxidation method in fixed electrical conditions and in the same electrolyte composition for 5, 15, 30, 45, 60, 90 and 120 minutes. The phase composition of the creation on the Zr is characterized by its microbuilding, surface morphology and microserity; X-ray breakdown, scan electron microscope, profylometer and microserity measurement. The coating layer is in the portion and contains a significant amount of micro-breaks. It has been found that the coverage consists of the monoclinical (m-ZrO2) vetetragonal (t-ZrO2) phases of zirconium oxide in the crystal structure and does not affect the phase content formed by the coverage time. In the cover, the presence of zirconium and oxygen alongside silicon is also detected. With the increase in the covering time, the cover thickness has increased linearly from 5 μm to 135 μm. The surface smoothness increased with the covering time, from 0.5 μm to 6.4 μm. Underlying material, compared to the hardness of 200HV of zirconium, the oxyde coating layer hardness was measured at about 600HV and there was no systematic change related to the coating time in the microserity value.
