Abstract:

        This study has been prepared with the aim of having an evaluation towards the duty duration of Turkish Football Association heads. Today, sport has become an interesting phenomenon for governments due to its scientific, social and cultural effects. This aspect of sport has earned a corporate quality. Turkish Football Association that is the institutional representative of football has come up to the day with its long history and become one of the most important institutions of Turkish Sport Organization. This organization has been administered by a number of heads since its foundation. However, majority of heads have had a short duty term. This study examines the social and political events of this era concerning the duty term of the heads of the Turkish Football Association, as well as the positive and negative effects of these events upon the duty term of heads. The study also considers newspaper reports and gives place to the written and verbal statements of heads especially concerning their resignation. A literature review has been conducted concerning the social and political events of this era. Thus, the acquired findings are associated with the duty term of heads and these information are presented as inferences of the study. Considering the acquired findings; it is observed that the Turkish sport history is written according to memories rather than documents, which forces researchers into using newspapers more. Considering the explanations of heads regarding their resignation; even though the Turkish football is administered by someone, it is thought that there are actually persons that lock the system behind the scenes, which unfortunately prevents the Turkish football to develop.
