Abstract:

On a global scale, it is a fact that climate change is among the most important environmental problems of our time. It is clear that its impact will increase in the future unless decisive action is taken in the necessary measures and mitigation efforts. It is very important to raise awareness of the society in the fight against global climate change. In this context, the education to be given to individuals plays a key role in raising awareness, awareness and attitude towards climate change. It is possible to say that the climate change education given in the early childhood period is important in terms of realizing the developmental periods (cognitive, affective and psychomotor) and personality development in this period, as well as gaining many behaviors and making these behaviors permanent. This study is a review article written to examine the concept of climate change in early childhood education. As the content of the study, the concept of climate change, the development of the concept of climate change from past to present, climate change education in early childhood and its importance are explained and related researches are included. It can be said that this study can be a pioneer in the light of the arrangements to be made in the education dimension to create the perception of climate change, an important global problem in early childhood education.
