Hafnia alvei is a gram-negative base found in the human gastrointestinal flora. It was first identified in 1954. It is known that this microorganism, which may be a social or healthcare-related infection factor, has only caused the epidemic once to this day. Also, the number of cases seen with death is quite small. In this study, a 71-year-old male patient with diabetes mellitus, hypertension and cerebrovascular diseases presented the phenomenon of a community-based urinary tract infection caused by Hafnia alvei. The patient was treated with ciprofloxacin (seven days). Hafnia alvei can be treated with aminoglycosides, kinolone group antibiotics and third-generation sefalosporins.
