Abstract:

As well as religious tourism has been a habitual activity since ancient times; it includes visits to temples, ceremonies, prayer and blessing rituals in churches, meetings and excursions. Religious tourism, which is also associated as a type of cultural tourism, has differed according to people's religious beliefs. Although it is generally done for worship purposes; at the same time, it has been realized with the aim of recognizing tangible cultural assets, establishing social ties and protecting cultural values. In this paper, in the city of Uzgen within the borders of Osh province; Uzgen Minaret, and Imam Serahsi Mosque were examined within the framework of religious and cultural tourism. The archaic city of Uzgen has preserved its characteristic of being the most important political, historical, religious and cultural city of the first Muslim Turkish State, the Qarakhanid State, and at the same time it has brought important works of religious and cultural tourism to the present day. Looking at the visits made to these places, it is seen that they contribute to the tourism potential of Kyrgyzstan. In the study, literature review method and observation and interview methods were used and it is aimed to determine that the city of Uzgen is an important destination center in terms of religious and cultural tourism and that it has an important place in religious tourism
