Abstract:

When time measurement tools used in forestry operations are developed, it is understood that a easy-to-access and easy-to-use test tool is needed for field work. Given the characteristics of personalization and easy portability, it has been compared with the problem of how an application tool suitable for mobile devices such as laptops, tablets and smartphones can be developed. In this context, with the necessary software and hardware support, the Android-based Time Measurement and Storage Tool (ZOKA) app has been developed. For testing the validity and availability of the application, preliminary field studies have been done and the application has been completed after the necessary improvements. In order to measure the performance of this application software, work-time measurements on the work steps related to the cutting process in the wood production activities have already been made and the work-time of the work parts have been recorded with a video recorder. In the office environment, the video player programmes used the indirect observation method through video recordings and the results obtained were used as control data. The same methodology and the application of ZOKA also made time measurements and the analysis results were compared with control data. The ability to measure short-term work spheres for timetables for different purposes, precision, ease of use, low cost, data storage and processing ability and volume, in terms of adaptation to any type of time measurement method, ZOKA application has been shown to be an appropriate time measurement tool in terms of technical, economic, ecological and ergonomic standards.
