Abstract:

Remembrances are the type of writing in which a person has experienced or witnessed the events and events that occur in his time based on his own observations and knowledge. In these works, the person also paints a portrait of the time he lived with his own life. In this regard, memories are important sources in terms of history science. Specifically the memories containing official messages in their content have an indispensable place for history science. However, such works also have a number of significant limitations.  One of these limitations is that the person who writes the memory subjects the objectivity of the memory by highlighting himself in the work. Therefore, if such works in which the same period or event is described are used as a source in history writing, other works on this subject must be examined and addressed comparatively with memory.  In this study, the Manda and Himaye subject, which is considered one of the means of liberation of the National Struggle Period, will be examined in the context of the memories that the four names who lead to the National Struggle have left. Here, in the light of the writings of Mustafa Kemal, Kazim Karabekir, Rauf Orbay and Ali Fuat Cebesoy, a number of conclusions will be made about how these leaders are opposed to Manda and Himaye.
