This study explores how well children diagnosed with autism spectrum are aware of their families’ psychosocial problems and their children’s educational needs. For this purpose, the child was diagnosed with autism spectrum with 20 first-degree nursing mothers or fathers have been conducted qualitative semi-configured conversations. The main questions that the study tries to answer are the problems that families experience between the time they see the differences in their children and the time of recognition, the problems that children experience after diagnosed autism, the support that parents give their children in education and the need for support from the families. Research findings made in the quality research pattern found that parents experienced differentiated problems before and after diagnosis, but when parents are easier to accept their children in the process of diagnosis, they are better focused on contributing to their children’s development. The outstanding findings of the study are that parents have problems with the lack of educational opportunities given to their autistic children and that the psychosocial support given to families in general is insufficient. As a result, families need education and social support, and they also need to receive awareness training for themselves and the community. These can also be provided by a structured government-backed family counseling program.
