Abstract:

The issue of differences in development between countries is the issue of interest of economists. The difference between countries has been tested by adding more titles to this approach measurement that is approaching with the relationship generally arising from physical capital, human capital, population growth and technological development. In general, the conclusion of the conditional proximity has led the economists to look at other factors. The market structure is one of them. Finally, in the prevention or reduction of problems arising from the market structure, social entrepreneurship (such as food, accommodation, education, basic health and hygiene services) has emerged as a solution to social problems. The study is based on the extended Solow model (MRW (1992)) to study the contribution of social entrepreneurship to economic growth. Therefore, the contribution to economic growth by NGOs and the private sector used as proxy for social entrepreneurship for 24 OECD countries between 1970 and 2014 is examined. The results show that social entrepreneurship activities have a positive impact on economic growth. This work is one of the first ones in literature as a set of data and model application.
