So many results that aren't mine?
References in many bibliographies are sometimes referred to as "Surname, I", so the citations of academics whose Surname and initials are the same may occasionally interfere. This problem is often the case with citation indexes all over the world.

Abstract:

Comparison of the short-term effects of deep transversal friction massage and extrakorporeal shock wave treatment in the treatment of lateral epicondylitis

Abstract:

Purpose: In this study, we aimed at determining and comparing (a) the short-term effects on the function and (b) the cost of both treatment methods of deep transversal friction massage (DTFM) and extracorporal shock wave therapy (ESWT) in patients diagnosed with lateral epicondylitis (LE). Tools and Methods: 52 patients (39 women, 13 men) diagnosed with LE were randomly divided into two groups: the DTFM group (n=25) and the ESWT group (n=27) in our study. Patients in the DF group were given a total of 6 sessions of DTFM for 2 days a week. Patients in the ESWT group were administered 3 sessions of ESWT once a week. Pre-treatment and immediately after treatment pain severity, pain threshold, perception strength, functional status (Mayo Race Performance Scoring System-MDPSS and Arms, Shoulder and Hand Problems Survey-DASH-T) were assessed. Results: The pain during rest and activity after treatment in both groups, significantly decreased compared to before treatment in DASH-T scores; the pain threshold, constipation strength and MDPSS scores significantly increased. However, DTFM was more effective in reducing pain during activity and improving functionality than ESWT. The treatment cost of DTFM was 69.60 TL, while ESWT was 124 TL. The result: DTFM, which can be easily applied by a physiotherapist, does not require expensive device-equipment and is less expensive, can be used as an effective treatment method in the treatment of patients with LE.

Abstract:

Purpose: This study aimed to determine and compare (a) the short-term effects of deep transverse friction massage (DTFM) and extracorporeal shock wave therapy (ESWT) on pain, grip strength, function in patients with lateral epicondylitis (LE) and (b) the costs of both treatment modalities. Materials and Methods: A total of 52 patients (39 females, 13 males) with LE were randomly divided into two groups: DTFM group (n=25) and ESWT group (n=27). Six sessions of DTFM was applied for the patients in DTFM group twice a week. Three sessions of ESWT was applied for the patients in the other group once a week. Pre- and post-treatment pain severity, pain threshold, grip strength, and functional status of the patients were assessed by the Mayo Elbow Performance Index (MEPI) and Disabilities of the Arm, Shoulder, and Hand (DASH-T) questionnaire. Results: In both groups, a significant decrease was observed in pain at rest and during activity, DASH-T and there was a significant increase in the pain threshold, grip strength and MEPI scores after the treatment. However, DTFM was found to be more effective than ESWT in terms of reducing pain during activity and improving functionality. The treatment costs were found to be TRY 69.60 for DTFM and TRY 124.0 for ESWT. Conclusion: DTFM, which can be easily applied by a physiotherapist, does not require expensive devices or equipment and is less costly, can be used as an effective method in the treatment of patients with LE.
