In early December 2019, an outbreak of new coronavirus illness 2019 (COVID-19) began in Wuhan City, Hubei Province, China. On January 30, 2020, the pandemic was deemed a significant public health emergency of worldwide concern. According to the World Health Organization (WHO), as of May 8, 2020, 3,759,967 positive COVID-19 cases had been documented worldwide, with 259,474 deaths attributed to COVID-19. To date, SARS-CoV-2 infection has been confirmed in 212 nations and territories. In March, after the lockdown was implemented, the United Nations (UN) and the World Health Organization (WHO) lauded India's response to the pandemic as 'comprehensive and robust,' calling lockdown restrictions 'severe but critical' to contain the essential healthcare infrastructure that is spreading and building. Appropriate medical treatment or vaccine is needed for this pandemic situation worldwide otherwise the spread of this virus will be very hard to avoid. Using secondary data, this paper aims to describe the consequence of Covid-19 on jobs and the economy as the current situation itself demonstrates how the job processes in each and every sector have stopped, which in turn have seriously affected an individual's livelihood and unemployment has reached its height. This has also resulted in the economy's sluggish economic growth .Finally, this paper shows what creative strategies businesses or organisations should take care of to keep the activity running smoothly during these normal times and there is an increase in jobs as soon as this epidemic overcomes.
