Abstract:

In the process of remote education that comes into our lives with the pandemic, it has been important to determine the conditions in which immigrant children benefit from their educational opportunities, to closely monitor the educational process they live and to ensure that the necessary measures are taken in this regard. The aim of this study is to identify the conditions of participation of immigrant students who continue to study in the basic educational institutions in Malta, identify the obstacles to their participation in the online learning process, and identify the opinions and recommendations of classmates to increase their participation. In this study, the quality research method was based and the case study method was used. A semi-configured meeting was held with 21 volunteer class teachers working in the 7 basic educational institutions where immigrant children are educated in the province of Malta. The semi-configured interview form prepared by the researcher contains 4 demographic 6 subjects with 10 questions. Online interviews were conducted and the data obtained was evaluated according to the visual and content analysis. The study found that immigrant students in the process of remote education have educational needs in social harmony, language skills and effective communication ways, more educational activities aimed at teaching reading and writing to immigrant students and the low level of access/participation of immigrant children to remote education.
