Özet Bu araştırmanın konusunu çocuğun okul başarısı ile ailesinin sınıfsal pozisyonu arasındaki ilişki oluşturmaktadır. Çocuğun okul başarısını etkileyen faktörlerden birisi de çocuğun içinde bulunduğu ve yaşamını sürdürdüğü sosyal koşullardır. Bu bildiride, yaşanılan ortamdaki ekonomik yetersizliklerin çocuğun okul başarısı üzerinde nasıl bir etki yarattığı araştırılmaktadır. Bu çalışmada çocuğun eğitsel başarısı, ailenin gelir düzeyi ile kültürel sermayesi arasında bir ilişki olduğundan hareketle açıklanmaya çalışılmaktadır. Eğitim düzeyi ile sınıfsal konum, sosyal hareketlilik ve yaşam düzeyleri arasındaki ilişkilerin ele alındığı bu araştırmada çocuğun eğitsel başarısının okul dışı faktörlerle ve fırsat eşitliği ile ilgili olduğu ve bunun hukuki eşitliğin ötesinde bir anlam taşıdığı ortaya konmaya çalışılmaktadır. Fırsat eşitliği düşüncesinin sınıfsal uçurumların duvarına çarparak sarsılması ciddi sorunlara yol açtığından bu konunun ele alınması ve açıklığa kavuşturulması hayati önem taşımaktadır. Bu çalışma yoksul çocukların farklı olduklarını ve dolayısıyla eğitim açısından diğer çocuklardan farklı desteklere gereksinim duyduklarını göstermeyi amaçlamaktadır. Çalışmada ayrıca, alt sınıflar lehine yapılan maddi transferlerin eğitimle ilişkilendirilerek yapılmasının, bu sınıf çocuklarının eğitsel başarısına katkı sağlamanın ötesinde demokratik yapının temelini oluşturan eşitlik ve rekabet açısından da önem taşıdığı belirtilmektedir. The subject of this study constitutes the relationship between the child’s school success and his family’s class position. One of the factors that influence the child’s school success is the social conditions in which the child is inside and continues to live. This report explores how economic disadvantages in the experience environment have an impact on the child’s school success. In this study, the educational success of the child is attempted to be explained by movement because there is a relationship between the income level of the family and the cultural capital. This study, which discusses the relationships between the level of education and class position, social mobility and living levels, tries to find that the child’s educational success is related to non-school factors and equal opportunities and that it has a meaning beyond legal equality. As the idea of equality of opportunities struck the wall of class gap leads to serious problems, it is vital to address this issue and to make it clear. This study aims to show that poor children are different and therefore need different support from other children in terms of education. The study also points out that the financial transfers for the benefit of the subclasses are associated with education and are also important in terms of equality and competition, which forms the basis of the democratic structure, in addition to contributing to the educational success of the children of this class.
