Sinema mekanları basit birer mekan olmanın ötesinde toplumların kültürel geçmişlerinin inşasında önemli bir yeri olan mekanlardır. Toplumların yaşam biçimlerine, geleneklerine, göreneklerine, alışkanlıklarına dair ipuçları veren sinema deneyimlerinin bu bağlamda ele alınarak incelenmesi, aslında toplumların geçmişten bugüne nasıl evrildiklerini göstermesi açısından da önemlidir. Sinema mekanları bireylerin eğlenme ve sosyalleşme ihtiyaçlarını karşılayan kamusal birer alandır ve bu mekanlar toplumların kültürel yaşantısının temel parçalarından birini oluşturur. Kültürün mekanlar dolayımı ile varolduğu düşünüldüğünde, sinema mekanlarının toplumun kültürel izlerini taşıyan mekanlar olarak önemi anlaşılabilir. Mekanlara bakmak, kültüre ve oradan da topluma bakmak demektir. Bu çalışmada Samsun örneği üzerinde, sinema mekanlarının geçmişe ait izlerine bireylerin anıları dolayımı ile ulaşılmaya çalışılmış, böylece önemli bir kültürel mekan, bireylerin belleğine başvurularak analiz edilmiştir. Çalışmada 1960’lı ve 70’li yıllarda sinema mekanlarının nasıl ve ne şekilde kullanıldığı, filmler ve filmlerdeki karakterlerin nasıl izlendiği ve alımlandığı, sinema deneyimlerinin bireylerin gündelik yaşam biçimlerini ve sosyalleşmelerini ne yönde etkilediği irdelenmiş, buradan hareketle o yıllara ait çok önemli verilere ulaşılmıştır. Türkiye’de sinema mekanlarını kültürel ve sosyolojik yönleri ile irdeleyen sözlü tarih çalışmalarının da yeterli sayıda olmadığı görülmüştür. Sinema, mekan, film kültürü, izleme ve sosyalleşme biçimleri, kadın-erkek ilişkileri, gerçek ve hayal dünyasına dair paradokslar ve ritüelleriyle kapsamlı bir çalışma alanıdır. Toplumların sosyolojik ve kültürel izlerine ulaşmak açısından etkili bir yöntem olan sözlü tarih yöntemi çalışmada bu bağlamda değerlendirilmiştir. 5 kişinin geçmiş sinema mekanı deneyimlerinin irdelendiği bu çalışma, bize Samsun örneklemi üzerinden mekanların sosyal ve kültürel işlevlerine ve Türk kültürüne ait önemli veriler sunmakta ve geçmişin izlerini taşımaktadır.
The cinema spaces are places that, beyond being a simple place, play an important role in the construction of the cultural history of communities. The study of the film experiences that give clues about the ways of life, traditions, habits, and habits of societies in this context is also important to show how societies evolved from the past to the present. The cinema spaces are a public space that meets the needs of individuals’ entertainment and socialization, and these spaces are one of the core components of the cultural life of communities. Considering that culture exists because of the spaces, the importance of the cinema spaces as spaces carrying the cultural traces of society can be understood. To look at the places, to look at the culture and from there to the society. In this study on the example of Samsun, the traces of the cinema spaces of the past were tried to be reached through the memories of individuals, so an important cultural space was analyzed by applying to the memory of individuals. In the 1960s and 1970s, the study focused on how and how the cinema spaces were used, how the characters in the films and films were watched and captured, how the cinema experiences influenced the daily lifestyle and socialization of individuals, and from here the movement has reached the very important data of those years. In Turkey, the verbal history works that cover the cinema spaces with cultural and sociological aspects have not been shown to be sufficient. The cinema, the space, the film culture, the forms of viewing and socialization, the relationships between women and men, the paradoxes and rituals of the real and imaginary world. The verbal history method, which is an effective method in terms of achieving sociological and cultural traces of societies, has been evaluated in this context. This study, which is based on the past experience of the cinema site of 5 people, provides us with important data on the social and cultural functions of the sites and the Turkish culture through the Samsun sample and carries traces of the past.
Beyond being simple buildings, cinema venues have important roles in building the cultural history of societies. Examining the cinema experiences which give clues about the lifestyles, traditions, customs and habits of societies in this context is also important in terms of showing actually how societies evolved from past to present. Cinema venues are public spaces that meet the needs of individuals to have fun and socialize, and these spaces creates one of the fundamental parts of the cultural lives of societies. Considering the existence of culture is because of the places, the importance of the cinema venues as the places that carry the cultural traces of the society can be understood. Examining the places means examining the culture and from that point also examining the society. In this study through the case of Samsun, it was tried to reach the retrospective traces of the cinema venues through the memories of the people and so an important cultural space could be analysed by applying the memories of the individuals. In this study, how the cinema venues were used in the 1960s and 70s, how the films and the characters in the films were watched and perceived, how the cinema experiences effected the daily lifestyles and the socialization of the individuals were discussed and thus very important data from those years were reached. It showed that the studies on oral history in Turkey which examines the cultural and sociological aspects of the cinema venues are not sufficient in number. Cinema is a comprehensive field of study with the place, film culture, the styles of watching and socialization, man-woman relationships, paradoxes and rituals of the real and imaginary world. Because of that in the study oral history method which is an effective method to reach the sociological and cultural traces of societies was used. This study, which examines the past cinema venue experiences of 6 people, provides us with important data on the social and cultural functions of the cinema venues and data belong to Turkish culture through the case of Samsun and it also carries the traces of the past.
