Abstract:

In this study, the problem of determining the most suitable supplier for a large-scale plywood factory operating in Ordu province Fatsa Organized Industrial Zone is discussed. The aim of the study is to select the most suitable papel raw material supplier for the plywood factory. For this purpose, AHP and TOPSIS methods, which are among the multi-criteria decision-making methods, were used in an integrated manner. Evaluation criteria were determined by literature research and interviewing the purchasing officer of the factory. The main criteria are quality, price, delivery, management and service. The sub-criteria are product quality, packaging quality, quality documents, reasonable price, discount rate, payment terms, on time delivery, complete delivery, experience, market reputation, guarantee and compensation, mutual agreement, past performance and fast response. The weights of the five criteria were determined by the AHP method. In Ordu province, there are three raw material supply dealers suitable for the supply system of the mentioned plywood factory. The factory is able to procure the papel raw material required for the production of plywood from all three dealers. Within the scope of the study, these three suppliers were also evaluated. Ranking of suppliers was made by AHP and TOPSIS methods. According to the results of the study, “price” was determined as the most important criterion. The order of importance of other criteria is management, quality, service and delivery. In addition, supplier “B” was selected among the existing suppliers of the factory as the supplier with the highest score.
