Bu araştırmanın amacı, lise öğrencilerinin genetikle ilgili konularda kavram yanılgılarını saptamaktır. Araştırmaya Erzurum il merkezinde bulunan Erzurum Anadolu Lisesi, Mehmet Akif Ersoy Lisesi ve Nene Hatun Kız lisesinden toplam 184 öğrenci katılmıştır. Bu amaçla, 17 çoktan seçmeli sorudan oluşan test, lise 2 ve lise 3 sınıf öğrencilerine uygulanmıştır. Elde edilen verilerin analizinde frekans ve yüzde değerleri kullanılmıştır. Verilerden Öğrencilerin sadece bilgiye dayalı sorularda kavram yanılgılarının az, ancak bilgilerin toplanıp, harmanlanıp yorum yapılarak cevap verilmesi gereken sorularda ise daha çok kavram yanılgısına düştükleri saptanmıştır. Ayrıca her üç lisenin öğrencileri kendi arasında karşılaştırıldığında Erzurum Anadolu Lisesi öğrencilerininaz, Nene Hatun Kız lisesi öğrencilerininçok kavram yanılgısına düştüğü görülmüştür.
