Kelime, bir ya da birkaç heceden oluşan anlamlı söz, sözcük şeklinde tanımlanabilir. Kelime, aynı dili konuşan insanların bütün mazilerine ait tecrübelerinin hafızalarında depolanmış hâlidir. Dinleme ve okuma yoluyla öğrenilen kelimeler, konuşma ve yazma yoluyla da pekiştirilir, zihinde kalıcı duruma gelir. Kişinin sahip olduğu kelime varlığı onun anlama ve anlatma yeterliliğini etkilemektedir. Düşüncelerin gelişmesini sağlayan esas unsur kelimelerdir. Her kelimenin insan zihninde bir kavram olarak karşılığı olduğuna göre ve insan da kavramlarla düşünebildiğine göre diyebiliriz ki kelime hazinesinin zenginliği insanın düşünce gücünü artırır. Okullarda dil becerilerinin kazandırılmasına kelime bilgisi geliştirilerek başlanır. Kişinin kendini ifade edebilmesinde ve iletişimde bulunduğu kişileri anlayabilmesinde sahip olduğu kelime bilgisinin önemi büyüktür. Günümüzde gençlerin kitap okumaktan uzak kalması bile kelime hazinelerinin zayıflığı ile ilişkilendirilmektedir. Kelime bilgisi sadece kitaplardan kazanılmaz. Kişi görsel, işitsel tüm izlenimlerinden kelime hazinesine aktarım yapabilir. Ülkemizde televizyon eğlence kültürünün önemli bir parçasıdır. Kişilerin kelime hazinelerini zenginleştirmede bu kültürden faydalanılabilir. Bu çalışmanın amacı Gülse Birsel’in Jet Sosyete dizisinde karşılaşılan, günlük konuşmalarda sık kullanılmayan kelimeleri belirlemektir. Çalışma nitel araştırma yöntemlerinden tarama modelinde bir çalışmadır. Veriler doküman incelemesi tekniğinden faydalanılarak elde edilmiştir. Yazdığı dizi senaryolarında atasözlerini, yöresel deyişleri sıkça kullanan Gülse Birsel, daha çok eskimiş kelimeleri okumuş, kültürlü, belirli bir yaşın üzerindeki karakterlere kullandırırken, plaza dili diye tabir edilen, daha çok teknik, teknolojik terimlerden oluşan, dildeki dejenerasyonu ortaya koyan kelimeleri de eğitim görmemiş ya da eğitim görse de kültürlenmemiş karakterlere kullandırır. Gerek atasözleri, deyimler, vecizeler ve yöresel deyişlerin kullanımı olsun gerekse unutulmaya yüz tutmuş eski kelimelerin yahut teknolojiyle dilimize yeni girmiş kelimelerin kullanımı olsun izleyiciye zengin kelime çeşitliği sunularak dilin aktif kelime hazinesine katkı sağlanmış olur.
A word, a meaningful word consisting of one or more heads, can be defined in the form of a word. The word is stored in the memories of all the experiences of people speaking the same language. Words learned through listening and reading are also reinforced through speech and writing, becoming permanent in the mind. The presence of the word a person possesses affects his ability to understand and tell. The main elements that make the thoughts develop. Since each word is a reward in the human mind as a concept, and as man can think with concepts, we can say that the wealth of the word treasure increases the man’s thinking power. The learning of language skills in schools begins by developing word knowledge. The importance of the word knowledge that a person has in his ability to express himself and understand the people he is in communication is great. Even the fact that young people are away from reading books today is associated with the weakness of their word treasures. Word knowledge is not only gained from books. The person can transfer all visual, hearing impressions to the word treasure. Television is an important part of entertainment culture in our country. This culture can be used to enrich people’s word treasures. The purpose of this study is to identify the words that are not frequently used in daily conversations that are found in the Jet Society series of Gülse Birsel. The work quality is a study in the scan model of research methods. The data is obtained using the document review technique. In his series of scenarios, Gülse Birsel, who often uses his speeches, local speeches, uses more ancient words to characters over a certain age, while plaza language, more technical, technological terms, the words that reveal degeneration in language are not educated or educated but non-cultural characters. The use of necessary speeches, phrases, miracles and local phrases, whether the use of old words that are faced with forgotten or the use of newly entered words in our language by providing the audience with a rich word variety, will contribute to the active word treasure of the language.

Today, even young people's absence from reading is associated with the weakness of their vocabulary. Vocabulary is not only gained from books. One can transfer from all his visual and auditory impressions to the vocabulary. In our country, television is an important part of entertainment culture. The aim of this study is to identify the words that are encountered in Gülse Birsel's Jet Society series, which are not used frequently in daily conversations. The study is a study in the screening model, one of the qualitative research methods. The data were obtained by making use of the document review technique. Gülse Birsel, who frequently uses proverbs and local sayings in the series scenarios he writes, has read more worn words, cultured, characters over a certain age, and has not been trained in the language, which is called the language of plaza, consists of more technical and technological terms. But also makes use of uncultured characters. Whether it is the use of proverbs, idioms, phrases and local idioms, or the use of old words that have been forgotten or the words that have just entered our language with technology, the audience is provided with a rich variety of words, thus contributing to the active vocabulary of the language.
