Abstract:

Purpose: This study is aimed at reverse examination of patients who are applied parotidectomy in our clinic due to the parotic mass. Method: This study covers 71 patients operated due to a parotic mass in the Kayseri Education Research Hospital of the Ear Nose Gorgaz Clinic between January 2011 and March 2016. The patient’s age, gender, application complaints and physical examination findings, the findings of the thin injection aspiration biopsy (IAB), the surgical, histopathological diagnosis and complications were examined from the hospital records. Results: Patients frequently appeal complaints of swelling in front of the ear and physical examination in many parotis areas were detected painless, properly surface and moving masses. According to the histopathological diagnoses obtained after surgery in 65 patients (91%). 5) benign, malign mass was in six patients (8.5 percent). The most common benign tumors were respectively pleomorphic adenoma and Warthin tumor, while the most commonly detected malignant tumors were mukoepidermoid carcinoma and metastatic flat cell carcinoma (YHK). The postoperative complication was facial nerve dysfunction. The result: in the treatment of parotidectomy masses, parotidectomy initiatives are a sufficient and reliable surgeon when done with proper surgery planning supported by appropriate diagnostic examinations and careful surgical disection.
