Abstract:

Purpose: Honey is a nutrient that is believed to have a wounded effect on sperm because it contains high levels of sugar in the composition produced by honey bees. The main objective of this study is to determine the effectiveness of the natural honey supplement in the short-term storage of the Honamlı single sperm for 4 °C 96 hours on the sperm parameters. Method and method: In the reproductive season, 3 main Honamlı units were used. Three groups were formed in order to control (not adding honey) with the sperm that was diluted with the tris-egged moisturizer, which will be the groups adding honey at 1, 3 and 6 percent. Subjective motility, membrane integrity, and an abnormal sperm rate were assessed by the sperm parameters at 0, 24, 48, 72 and 96. Results: Sperm motility control and 1% honey added groups found higher than 3% and 6% honey content groups (p<0,05). In addition, the sperm motility was found low at the end of 24 hours in groups with 3% and 6% of honey added (p<0,05). Sperm membrane integrity was observed at 1% in the honey supplement group, 3% and 6% higher than in the honey supplement group. Recommendation: According to the findings obtained in the study, in the short-term storage of Honamlı single sperm, the basic triss hydratant found that 1% of the honey supplement could improve the quality of the sperm.
