Bu araştırmanın amacı, üniversite öğrencilerinin akıllı telefon bağımlılık düzeyleri ile akademik erteleme davranışları arasındaki ilişkinin incelenmesidir. Çalışma Türkiye’de üniversite öğrenimine devam eden 18-26 yaş aralığındaki 412 (116 erkek, 296 kadın) öğrenci üzerinde gerçekleştirilmiştir. Araştırma verileri üniversite öğrenimine devam eden ve çalışmaya katılmaya gönüllü öğrencilerden elde edilmiştir. Araştırmada veri toplama aracı olarak Akıllı Telefon Bağımlılığı Ölçeği-Kısa Form, Akademik Erteleme Ölçeği ve kişisel bilgi formu kullanılmıştır. Veriler t-test, ANOVA, Pearson korelasyon ve Regresyon teknikleri ile analiz edilmiştir. Akıllı telefon bağımlılığı ile akademik erteleme arasında pozitif yönde orta düzeyde ilişki olduğu görülmüştür. Akıllı telefon bağımlılığının akademik ertelemeyi etkilediği analizler sonucunda bulunmuştur. Elde edilen bulgular ilgili literatür kapsamında tartışılmış ve gelecek araştırmalara yönelik öneriler sunulmuştur.
The aim of this research is to study the relationship between the levels of smartphone addiction and academic delay behaviors of university students. The study was conducted on 412 (116 men, 296 women) students from the age range of 18-26 who are continuing to study at the university in Turkey. The research data is obtained from students who continue to study at the university and are volunteer to participate in the study. The study used the Smart Phone Addiction Scale-Short Form, Academic Delay Scale and Personal Information Form as a data collection tool. The data has been analyzed using t-test, ANOVA, Pearson correlation and Regression techniques. It has been shown that there is a positive middle-level relationship between smartphone addiction and academic delay. Analysis finds that smartphone addiction affects academic delays. The findings obtained were discussed within the relevant literature and recommendations for future research were presented.

In the collection of study data; “Smartphone Addiction Scale- Short Version, Academic Procrastination Scale and Personal Information Form” were used. Data analysis was performed on t-Test, ANOVA, Pearson correlation and regression techniques. It is seen that there is a moderate positive relation between smartphone addiction and academic procrastination. As a result of the analysis, it was found that smartphone addiction affects academic procrastination. The findings are discussed within the context of the related literature and suggestions for future research are presented.
