Sosyal Bilgiler bireyin değişen dünya ve ülke koşullarına uygun bilgi, beceri ve tutum geliştirerek toplumsal varoluşunu gerçekleştirilmesini amaçlayan çok disiplinli bir öğrenme alanıdır. Sosyal bilimlerin birçok alanının birleşmesinden oluşan sosyal bilgiler dersi içerisinde coğrafya disiplini önemli bir yer tutar. Sosyal Bilgiler dersi kapsamında coğrafya öğretimi öğrencilerin coğrafi düşünme yeteneği kazanmasını, doğal ve beşeri çevrelerini tanımasını, çevreleri ile sağlıklı ilişiler kurabilmelerini hedefler. Bu hedeflerin öğrenciye aktarılmasında Sosyal Bilgiler ders kitaplarında ele alınan coğrafya konularının düzeyi ve sunuluş biçimi, öğrencilerinin derse aktif katılımının sağlanması açısından son derece önemlidir. Bu çalışmada, Sosyal Bilgiler 4.sınıf ders kitabındaki coğrafya konuları ele alındı ve coğrafya konularının kazanımlarına uygunluğu noktasında yeterliliği değerlendirildi. Araştırma kapsamında nitel araştırma yöntemi kullanılmış ve araştırma bulgularına doküman analizi yapılarak ulaşıldı. Elde edilen bulgulara göre, hazırlanan yeni Sosyal Bilgiler 4.sınıf Sosyal Bilgiler Ders Kitabında coğrafya konuları kapsamında “İnsanlar, Yerler ve Çevreler”, “Küresel Bağlantılar” ve “Kültür ve Miras” üç öğrenme alanı olarak tespit edildi. Sonuç olarak 4. sınıf Sosyal Bilgiler ders kitabının görsellik ve etkinlik açısından bazı eksiklikleri bulunsa da öğrencileri coğrafya disiplini ile tanıştırma noktasında başarılı olduğu sonucuna ulaşılmıştır.
Social Knowledge is a multidisciplinary learning field aimed at achieving social existence by developing knowledge, skills and attitudes in accordance with the changing world and country conditions. In the social knowledge course, which consists of the combination of many fields of social sciences, geographical discipline holds an important place. In the context of the social knowledge course, geography teaching aims to gain students the ability to geographically think, to recognize their natural and human environments, and to build healthy relationships with their environments. The level and the form of presentation of the geographical subjects discussed in the Social Information curricula in the transfer of these goals to the student is extremely important in terms of ensuring the student's active participation in the course. In this study, social information 4. The geography subjects in the classbook were discussed and the competence was assessed at the point of suitability to the achievements of geography subjects. In the framework of the research, the quality research method was used and the findings of the research were achieved by making document analysis. According to the findings obtained, the prepared new Social Information 4th Class Social Information Curriculum was identified as three learning areas within the framework of geography subjects "People, Places and Environments", "Global Connections" and "Culture and Heritage". As a result, the 4th class Social Information curriculum has some deficiencies in terms of visibility and effectiveness, but the conclusion has been achieved is that the students are successful in the introduction point with the geographic discipline.
Social studies; It is a multidisciplinary learning area that aims at realizing the social existence of the individual by developing knowledge, skills and attitudes appropriate to changing world and country conditions. Geography discipline has an important place in the social studies course which consists of the merger of many fields of social sciences. Geography education within the scope of Social Studies students to gain geographic thinking, natural and human environment to recognize aims to enable them to use the elements and establish healthy relationships with their environment. The level and presentation of the geography subjects discussed in the Social Studies textbooks in transferring these goals to the students is extremely important in terms of ensuring the active participation of the students in the course. In our study, the geography subjects in the 4th grade textbook of Social Studies were evaluated by adequacy of geography subjects for their appropriateness.Qualitative research method was used within the scope of our research and the research findings were obtained by document analysis. According to the findings, ”People, Places and Environments““Global Links” and “Culture and Heritage” were determined as three learning areas within the scope of the new Social Studies 4th grade social studies textbook. As a result, although there are some deficiencies in terms of visuallity and effectiveness of 4th grade Social Studies textbook, it has been concluded that it is successful in introducing students with geography discipline.
