Abstract:

Revealing the principles, designs and rules in the Artistic enviroment of the Seljuk period in Anatolia is important in undertanding the art of the period. Undoubtedly, the thought and social structure of the period should be taken in to consideration in shaping the typological features of the builgins. Ensuring similarities and differences between regions enabled the formation of the art of the period. For this reason, it becomes necessary to consider it within the concept of “Anatolian Seljuk Period”. For each building, artists have demonstrated their own unique understanding of art by carrying out new experiments and applications. The Hanihak/Zaviye/ ters T plan scheme application, which can be interpreted as a new trial example within the Madrasa/Han/Caravansaray (Inn) plan group, is actually an important example of the formation of plan types of the religious thought structure of social thought in Anatolia. Althought the structures discussed in our study are important examples of this practice, they reflect the cultural structure of Anatolia and Show that there may be cultural similarities between Sivas- Kayseri- Afyon- Alanya- Afşin- Eğiridr…. The fact that the side pace/ Ters T plan scheme was not applied in mosques of the Anatolian Seljuk period and that such a dig-ferent arrangement was included in the madrasahs and inns examined reflects the diffference. Therefore, in a sense, it shows that the Anatolian Seljuk intellectual and artistic understading differs from the side- spaced / Ters T plan mosgue practice applied in the Ottoman period, which was the original plan shape of the early period mosques. It is proof that the mentality of the Anatolian Seljuks and the Ottomans is not the same.
