Abstract:

One of the leading figures of Turkish-Islamic history in the 12th century is Nureddin Zengi. Nureddin Zengi, who came to the head of the Zengid dynasty at a time when the Crusader army captured Kudus, Urfa, Antakya and Tripolitania and established small states here, took Damascus and Ba'lebek from the Böri and took Egypt and put an end to the Fatimid State. Nureddin, who established Islamic unity on the axis of Syria-Egypt, struggled with the Crusaders. In this sense, he defeated the Crusader-Byzantine and Crusader-Hashashi alliances. He left behind the commander of Qudus, who was to conquer, Selahaddin Eyyubi. There have been some studies about Nureddin Zengi, who left important traces in the turbulent world of the 12th century. One of them is the work named "Nureddin Zengî" written by Nadir Karakuş. In this study, this work of Karakuş has been tried to be introduced and criticised. Evaluations were made on the purpose of the work, its literary style, shape features, its audience, its contribution to the literature and its content.
