Hayvanlara, nesnelere, doğa olaylarına, insan olmayan canlı ya da cansız varlıklara insani niteliklerin atfedilmesi anlamını karşılayan Antropomorfizm, çeşitli alanlar tarafından sıklıkla konu edinilen bir kavram olmuştur. Özellikle bu alanlar içerisinde yer alan günümüz televizyon dünyasına ait karakter evreninin büyük çoğunluğunu antropomorfik karakterler oluşturmaktadır. Bu karakter tasarımlarının antropomorfizm bağlamında açıklanması çalışmanın temel amacını ortaya koymaktadır. Karakter tasarımları, çeşitli mesajlar ve derin anlamların yansıtılması bağlamında çok boyutlu bir yapıya sahiptir. Karakterlerin ulaşmış olduğu izleyici kitlesi, özellikle çocuklar, özdeşim kurmuş olduğu bu tasarımları kimlik sahibi bireyler olarak görebilmektedir. Korkunç, sevimli ya da komik mizaca sahip insan dışındaki bu karakterlerin, insani özelliklere sahip olmasıyla verilmek istenilen mesajın alıcıya ulaşması da kolaylaşmaktadır. Bu bağlamda antropomorfik özelliklere sahip karakterlerin sık tercih edilmesindeki neden de anlaşılabilmektedir. Antropomorfizm, farklı alanlar ve görüşler içerisinde konu edinilen bir kavram olsa da bu araştırmada sınırlılık, karakter tasarım eğitimi evreninde çizilmiştir. Araştırmaya dair kuramsal çerçevenin oluşturulmasında kaynak tarama modeli kullanılmış olup amaca yönelik çizgi karakter tasarımı uygulaması ile antropomorfizm ve karakter tasarımları arasındaki ilişki açıklanmaya çalışılmıştır.
Anthropomorphism, which meets the significance of attributing human qualities to animals, objects, natural events, non-human living or unviolent beings, has been a concept that has been frequently addressed by various fields. The great majority of the character universe belonging to today’s television world, especially within these fields, is anthropomorphic character. The explanation of these character designs in the context of anthropomorphism reveals the main purpose of the study. The character designs have a multi-dimensional structure in the context of the reflection of various messages and deep meanings. The audience that the characters have reached, especially the children, can see these designs that they have established as identifiable individuals. Except for the person with a horrible, cute or funny mood, these characters have human characteristics and the message they want to be given is also easier to reach the recipient. In this context, it is also possible to understand why characters with anthropomorphic characteristics are often preferred. Anthropomorphism is a concept acquired within different fields and opinions, but in this study limitation, character design education is drawn up in the universe. In the creation of the theoretical framework of the research, the source scanning model was used and the aim of the application of the linear character design and the relationship between anthropomorphism and character design was tried to explain.

The fact that these non-human characters, who have a scary, cute or funny temperament, have human characteristics, make it easier for the message to be delivered to the recipient. In this context, the reason why characters with anthropomorphic features are frequently preferred can be understood. Although anthropomorphism is a concept that is discussed in different fields and views, the limitation of this research is drawn in the universe of character design education. In the creation of the theoretical framework for the research, the literature review model was used, and the relationship between the purposeful cartoon character design application and anthropomorphism and character designs was tried to be explained.
