Pesticides may cause cumulative effects by accumulating in water and soil. Furthermore accumulation of pesticides in foods such as milk and eggs increases their cumulative effects. Pesticides affect generally human health, but especially neurological system. Pesticide exposure may cause occuring and progressing of some psychiatric and neurological illnesses such as depression, dementia, Alzheimer, Parkinson’s disease, amyotrophic lateral sclerosis. Additionally skin effects of pesticide exposure causes psychological disorders and it may affect quality of life negatively by making social isolation. Therefore to reduce pesticide exposure the rules must be sticken to by using pesticides, personal protective measures must be attended, the society must be raised awareness, foods must be washed thoroughly and they must be eaten after hulling. KEYWORDS: Pesticide, mental health, neurological effects, protection.
