Children's books; it is a very important place for children to love reading and for the generation of reading generations. For this reason, it is thought that the works prepared for children should comply with the principles of children's literature. In this study, Hasan Ali Toptaş's novel, Bir Bir Gürgen Dalıyım, has been tried to be evaluated in terms of compliance with the principles of children's literature. Document thinning technique was used in this study. “Document analysis involves the analysis of written materials containing information about the cases or cases that are targeted for investigation (Yıldırım & Şimşek, 2013: 217). In the study, Hasan Ali Toptaş's book, I am a Gürgen Dalıyım, has been examined and analyzed through content analysis by forming two main titles as substructure and internal structure elements within the framework of children's literature principles. This way; “It is a scientific approach that investigates social truth by objectively and systematically classifying, translating and inferring the message contained in verbal, written or other materials in terms of meaning and / or grammar (Tavşancıl and Aslan, 2001: 22). As a result of the analysis, it was found that the work examined in general terms is in accordance with the principles of children's literature in terms of external structure and internal structure elements. In addition, it is thought that the book will contribute to children's perception world, to develop sensitivity to nature as well as to provide literary pleasure to children. It was tried to ensure the reliability of the study by showing the findings from the work. Finally, some suggestions were made.
