Sadece birkaç tanesini saydığım bu “meydan okuma”lara karşı Rabbi Dr. Joshua Berman daha önce yazdığı Created Equal: How the Bible Broke with Ancient Political Thought (New York: Oxford University Press, 2008) ve Inconsistency in the Torah: Ancient Literary Convention and the Limits of Source Criticism (New York: Oxford University Press, 2017) adlı eserleriyle ve çeşitli dergilerde ve internet sitelerinde yayımladığı makaleleriyle Ortodoks bir Yahudi’nin nasıl bir tavır sergilemesi gerektiğini ortaya koymuştur. After the Renaissance and Reform Movements, the efforts made to understand the sacred books of Jews and Christians in the Western world in the context of scientific standards in the 17th century and subsequent century, can in the most general sense be called the Bible Criticism. These works were focused on both the Old Testament and the New Testament texts, including the Tevrat and the Gospel. These long-standing academic research on the Old Testament has left the Orthodox Jews faced some difficult questions to answer: Are the various events, such as the Tufan of Noah in the Tevrat and the Exit from Egypt, really historically experienced events? How do we see the differences between the various narratives and legal claims in the various sections of the Tevrat? How to explain the discrepancies between the texts? How do you know that the Qur’an was revealed to Moses after Moses? Just a few of these "read the fields" I count against the Lord Dr. Joshua Berman has previously written Created Equal: How the Bible Broke with Ancient Political Thought (New York: Oxford University Press, 2008) and Inconsistency in the Torah: Ancient Literary Convention and the Limits of Source Criticism (New York: Oxford University Press, 2017) and published in various magazines and websites, and revealed how an Orthodox Jew should present his attitude. by Joshua Berman.
