Araştırma sahamız olan Emet ilçe merkezi Ege Bölgesi’nin İç Batı Anadolu Bölümünde yer tutar. İlçe, günümüze kadar ki dönemde birçok medeniyetin hâkimiyetinde kalmıştır. Bu yüzden, ‘Ağrios’ ve ‘Eğrigöz’ gibi isimler kullanılarak, kaza ve nahiye merkezi olarak yönetilmiştir. Cumhuriyetin ilânından itibaren ilçe statüsüne kavuşmuştur. İlçe merkezi nüfusunda 2008 yılına kadar büyük değişimler görülmüş bu yıldan itibaren, nüfus değişimi durağan bir seyir izlemiştir. Kır nüfusu ise, son yıllarda azalış eğilimindedir. 2020 yılı nüfus piramidinde, dar aralıklı yaş grupları içerisinde 65 yaş üzeri nüfus çoğunluktadır. Nüfusun ekonomik faaliyet sektörlerdeki büyük bölümü, hizmet (toplum hizmetleri, sosyal ve kişisel hizmetler) sektöründe olup, sektörler içerisinde % 35’lik kısmına denk gelmektedir. Mahalle yerleşimlerinin tümünde, hane halkı büyüklükleri Türkiye ortalamasının (3,30) kişi altında kalmıştır. Emet ilçesindeki iş alanlarının sınırlı olması nedeniyle, nüfusta 2015-2020 yılları arasındaki devrede iş bulabilmek gayesiyle yoğun bir göç olayı yaşanmıştır. Nitekim göç verilen illerin başında ise, İstanbul, Bursa, Manisa, İzmir gibi büyükşehir yerleşmeleri gelmektedir.
Our research area, the Emet district center is located in the Inner West Anatolian District of the Egean Region. The first, until today, has remained in the domination of many civilizations. Therefore, using names such as 'Ağrios' and 'Eğrigöz', it was managed as the accident and distress center. It has been established by the Republic since its establishment. Since 2008 there have been major changes in the central population since this year, the population change has followed a stable shift. The population has tended to decline in recent years. In the 2020 population pyramid, the majority of the population over the age of 65 is among the narrow age groups. The majority of the population in the sectors of economic activity is in the sector of services (social services, social and personal services) and is equal to 35% in the sectors. In all neighboring settlements, the size of the household population remained below the average of Turkey (3.30) people. Due to the limited business areas in the Emet district, a intense immigration incident has occurred in order to find jobs in the population between 2015-2020. In fact, at the beginning of the provinces given immigration, there are settlements such as Istanbul, Bursa, Manisa, Izmir.
Emet district center, which is our research area, is located in the Central West Anatolian Section of the Aegean Region. The district has remained under the dominance of many civilizations to date. Therefore, it was ruled as a district and township, with such names as 'Agrios' and 'Egrigöz'. It was granted the status of a district with the proclamation of the Republic. Major changes were observed in the population of the district center until 2008, and since then, the population change has followed a stable course. Rural population, on the other hand, tends to decrease in recent years. In the 2020 population pyramid, the population over 65 constitutes the majority in narrow age range groups. The majority of the population in the sectors of economic activity is concentrated in the service (community services, social and personal services) sector, which corresponds to 35% of the sectors. Household sizes in all neighborhood settlements has remained below the average of Turkey (3,30). Due to the limited working areas in Emet district, there was an intense migration in the population in an attempt to find a job in the period between 2015-2020. As a matter of fact, such metropolitan settlements as Istanbul, Bursa, Manisa, and Izmir are at the forefront of the provinces where people tend to immigrate.
