This study aimed to analyze and compare the anthropometric variables: BMI, WHR, % BF and eating habits of students in private and public school education network in the city of Manaus - AM. 140 children were evaluated, of both genders, aged 8-12 years old, of which 70 were from a private school and 70 from public school. The classification of nutritional status was performed according to body mass index indicators (BMI). The physical examination was performed using the material for the measurement of weight and height. The waist and hip were used to calculate the WHR and skin folds were used to calculate the percentage of fat among students. The questionnaire was used to analyze the eating habits of school. A private school and public school did not contain significant difference in BMI data and the G% of the analyzed students. Regarding WHR the results were significant differences between students from public schools (0,82) and private school children (0,89). According to the research carried out, it was observed that students of private institutions have WHR values higher, however, there were no differences in other anthropometric indices in relation to the questionnaire of food habits, it was found that students public institution feed on a more healthy way, while students from the private institution eat more processed foods and little nutritional value, which can be harmful to your health.
