We aim at showing the alterations of the body composition in obese individuals received by an obesity support group. Methods: Pre-experimental study with pre and post-test of lineation. It was carried with obese individuals received by an obesity support group. The participants were undertaken to anthropometric evaluation (weight, height, waist and hip circumference). The Body Mass Index (BMI) was used. The datum analysis was done through descriptive statistics. ANOVA tests of repeated measures and Student’s tests “t” were used to independent samples. For the analysis of categorical variable we used qui – independence square – and the G independence test. Spearman’s Linear Correlation test was used to verify the association between the variables. Results: 36 obese people took part in the study: 16.7% male and 83.3% female, with ranging from 20 to 60. Statistically significant results were verified among all the weight and BMI (p=0.00) crossings; all the crossings among hip and waist circumference (p=0.00) and RCQ (p=0.00) were also verified to be statistically significant. Conclusion: The statistical tests that were used showed statistically significant differences between periods pre versus 3 months versus 6 months in the anthropometric variables: body weight, BMI, waist circumference, hip circumference and RCQ.
