Abstract:

Böcekler ve onlardan elde edilen maddeler, tarih boyunca dünya üzerinde değişik toplumlarca ilaç kaynağı olarak kullanılmıştır. İnsanlarda görülen çeşitli hastalıkların geleneksel yöntemlerle tedavilerinde böcekler yaygın olarak kullanılmasına rağmen nispeten çok az bilimsel araştırmalara konu olmuştur. Ancak, son zamanlarda yaygın olarak kullanılan antibiyotiklere karşı gelişen direnç bilim insanlarını yeni antibiyotik kaynakları aramaya zorlamıştır. Bu çalışmada, böceklerin geçmişten günümüze geleneksel ve modern tıpta kullanımı ve önemi ifade edilmeye çalışılmıştır.
