Bu çalışmada, ilkokul birinci sınıfa giden öğrenci velilerinin pandemi döneminde uzaktan eğitim süreci hakkındaki görüşlerinin belirlenmesi amaçlanmaktadır. Bu çalışmada, nitel araştırma yöntemlerinden durum çalışması deseni kullanılmıştır. Araştırma verileri, yarı yapılandırılmış görüşme formu aracılığıyla 9 anne, 7 baba olmak üzere toplam 16 ebeveynden toplanmıştır. Görüşme verileri, içerik analizi yöntemi kullanılarak analiz edilmiştir. Analiz sonucunda 4 kategori, 10 alt kategori ve 37 kod belirlenmiştir. Alt kategori ve kodlar eğitim-öğretim süreci, evde eğitim, etkileşim ve destek kategorileri altında toplanmıştır. Velilerin görüşleri bu kategoriler altında detaylı olarak incelenerek açıklanmıştır. Veliler çocuklarının uzaktan eğitimde okuma-yazma gibi konularda akademik başarı gösterdiklerini belirtmişlerdir. Velilerin en az öğretmenler kadar çaba sarf ettiği, ev ve iş hayatlarına ek olarak sorumluluklar yüklendikleri görülmüştür. Veliler çocuklarına eğitsel, psikolojik ve teknolojik desteklerde bulunmuşlardır. Pandemi sürecinde öğrenci-öğretmen, öğrenci-öğrenci arasındaki iletişim azalırken veli-öğretmen arasındaki etkileşim artmıştır. Teknolojik anlamda pandeminin başında veli, öğretmen ve öğrenci açısından bazı aksaklıklar yaşansa da zamanla üstesinden gelindiği görülmüştür. Veliler gelecek yıllarda uzaktan eğitimin, çocuklarının eğitimlerine destek olarak kullanılabileceği ama geleneksel birinci sınıf eğitimi için uygun olmadığı görüşüne sahiptirler. Ayrıca veliler uzaktan eğitimi, salgın gibi okula gitmenin mümkün olmadığı durumlarda kesintisiz eğitim sağlayan önemli bir sistem olarak vurgulamışlardır. Uzaktan eğitimin küçük yaş gruplarında akademik başarı sağladığı ancak yaş grubuna bağlı olarak veli desteğinin son derece önemli olduğu söylenebilir. Bu konuda velilerde farkındalık oluşturulması yönünde çalışmaların yapılması önerilmektedir.
In this study, it is aimed to determine the views of the parents of the first year primary school students about distance education process during the pandemic period. For this purpose in this study, case study design, one of the qualitative research methods, was used. The research data were collected from a total of 16 parents, 9 of whom were mothers and 7 of whom were fathers, through a semi-structured interview form. The interview data were analyzed using the content analysis method and 4 categories, 10 subcategories, and 37 codes were constructed. Subcategories and codes were gathered under the categories of education-teaching process, home education, interaction, and support. The views of the parents were explained in detail under these categories. Parents stated that their children had academic success in distance education. It has been observed that parents make as much effort as teachers, and have responsibilities in addition to their home and work lives. Parents provided educational, psychological, and technological support to their children to complete their education. While the communication between student-teacher and student-student decreases during the pandemic process; interaction between parents and teachers has increased. Although there were some problems in terms of parents, teachers, and students at the beginning of the pandemic in terms of technology, it was seen that they were overcome over time. Parents have the view that distance education can be used to support their children's education in the coming years, but it is not suitable for traditional first grade education. In addition, parents emphasized distance education as an important system that provides students uninterrupted education in cases where it is not possible for them to go to school, due to the reasons like pandemics and other diseases. It can be said that distance education provides academic success in young age groups, but parent support is extremely important depending on the age group. It is recommended to carry out studies to raise awareness among parents on this issue.
