Introduction: For nutritional assessment of patients with liver disease, the combination of several nutritional parameters is recommended. Objective: To evaluate the nutritional status of patients diagnosed with hepatitis B and/or C. Materials and Methods: Cross-sectional, descriptive and analytical study, carried out during the June to November of 2017 at a Reference Center for the Eastern Amazon, with hepatitis B and/or C patients. Anthropometric assessment (body mass index, mid-arm circumference, triceps skinfold thickness, mid-arm muscle circumference, corrected arm muscle area, subscapular skinfold) and dietary intake (24-hour recall). For data analysis, Student’s t test or Mann-Whitney test, G or Chi-Squared test were carried out, results with p≤0.05 were considered significant. Results: 81 evaluated patients. Regarding anthropometric assessment, it was not observed any association between fibrosis and the means. However, most of the patients presented adequate results to mid-arm circumference (61.73%; p=0.034), mid-arm muscle circumference (66.67%; p=0.002) and subscapular skinfold (79.01%; p<0.000). Regarding food consumption, there was no statistically significant difference in relation to the groups, presenting similar averages for caloric and macronutrient consumption. Conclusion: It is highlighted the importance of nutritional assessment in these patients in order to contribute for the prevention of nutritional disorders.
