In recent years, the demand for nutritional care among the population has increased in order to acquire a healthier lifestyle. Greater demand is associated with overweight people, obesity, diseases resulting from an unbalanced diet, concern with health and aesthetics. Nutritional services comprise an important tool in health promotion and the professional nutritionist has a collaborative role in the entire process of dietary re-education, intervention in multidisciplinary treatment and disease prevention. This study aimed to characterize the nutritional profile of patients seen at the Clinic School of Nutrition at the State University of the Midwest. This is a retrospective cross-sectional study with quantitative data, obtained from 1188 records of the clinic school attended from 2017 to 2020. Demographic data, reason for seeking nutritional care, nutritional status, Basal Metabolic Rate, Total Energy Expenditure, were collected. type of diet and nutritional behavior. Most of the population attended at the school clinic were female, with an average age of 32 years and who spontaneously sought nutritional care. Prevalence of obesity was found and most of the actions performed were weight reduction and dietary re-education. This study made it possible to know the nutritional profile of patients at the school of nutrition clinic, where overweight prevailed among the population served, highlighting the importance of nutritional care for changes in the population's lifestyle, consequent improvement in nutritional status and prevention of diseases resulting from poor diet.
