Abstract:

This study evaluates the work of the French writer and sociologist Lucien Goldmann, Roman Sociology. Goldmann of Roman origin is known as a Marxist philosopher and literary sociologist. The composition is made up of four sections. In the first part, the thinker refers to Lukacs's literary theory and explains the fact of alienation. The second part is about the sociological evaluations of two works chosen from French Literature. According to Goldmann, the alienation caused by capitalism is also manifested in the novels. In new novels, actors object or take the place of people objects. In the third part, we see the film L'immortelle (The Immortal Woman). Goldmann, who analyzes the content through the scenes, says the film is about generalization and dishumanization. The last part of the work is about the creator-creative theory developed by the author. Goldmann tries to develop the novel theory that Lukacs created around meta-fetishism. The environmental and psychological processes also work to create their own theory.
