Araştırmanın amacı meslek yüksekokulu öğrencilerinin ders çalışma yaklaşımlarını belirlemek ve ders çalışma yaklaşımlarının akademik başarılarının anlamlı bir yordayıcısı olup olmadığını tespit etmektir. Veri toplama aracı olarak Ders Çalışma Yaklaşımları Ölçeği kullanılmıştır. Mevcut uygulamada ölçeğin derin yaklaşım için hesaplanan iç tutarlılık katsayısı .74, yüzeysel yaklaşım için hesaplanan iç tutarlılık katsayısı .71’dir. Öğrencilerin ders çalışma etkinliklerinde derin ve yüzeysel yaklaşımı orta düzeyde kullandığı tespit edilmiştir. Bu araştırmanın yapıldığı çalışma grubunda derin ve yüzeysel yaklaşım puanlarının akademik başarının anlamlı birer yordayıcısı olduğu belirlenmiştir. Derin öğrenme yaklaşımı akademik başarıyı pozitif yönde yordarken, yüzeysel öğrenme yaklaşımının akademik başarıyı negatif yönde yordadığı tespit edilmiştir.
The aim of the research is to determine the course study approaches of vocational school students and to determine whether the course study approaches are a significant predictor of their academic success. The Study Approach Scale was used as a data collection tool. In the current practice, the calculated internal consistency coefficient of the scale is .74 for the deep approach and .71 for the surface approach. It was determined that the students used the deep and surface approach at the intermediate level in their study activities. In the study group where this study was conducted, it was determined that the deep and surface approach scores were a significant predictor of academic success. While deep learning approach predicted academic success positively, it was determined that the surface learning approach negatively predicted academic success.
