Yapı temelleri altında taşıyıcı tabaka olarak kullanılan zemin, her zaman istenilen özelliklere sahip olmayabilir. Böyle durumlarda, inşaat yerinin değiştirilmesi, istenilen özelliklere sahip olmayan tabakaların kaldırılarak uygun zeminlerin yerleştirilmesi gibi çözümler genelde ekonomik değildir. İstenilen özelliklere sahip olmayan zeminler, farklı katkı maddeleri kullanılarak yerinde iyileştirme ile daha ekonomik çözümler sunabilir. Pomza volkanik olaylar sonucunda oluşmuş, boşluklu, süngerimsi bir kayaçtır, volkanik faaliyetlerin bulunduğu dünyanın birçok bölgesinde bu kayaç oluşumuna rastlanmak mümkündür. Ülkemiz bu kayaç oluşumunun sahip olduğu rezervleri bakımından önemli bir yere sahiptir. Ülkemizde pomza rezervinin %50'si Bitlis, %22'si Kayseri, %17'si Nevşehir, %6'sı Van, %1,8'i Isparta, %1,2'si Karaman, %1'i Kars, %1'i de Ağrıda bulunmaktadır. Bu çalışmada Bitlis, Manisa Kula ve Isparta Karakaya bölgesine ait pomzaların yüksek plastisiteli kile etkisi karşılaştırılmıştır.
The ground used as a carrier layer under the construction foundations may not always have the desired properties. In such cases, solutions such as changing the building site, removing layers that do not have the desired properties and placing suitable soil are usually not economical. Floors that do not have the desired properties can offer more economical solutions with healing in place using different additives. Pomza is an empty, spongiform rock formed as a result of volcanic events, and this rock formation can be found in many parts of the world where volcanic activities occur. Our country has an important place in terms of the reserves that this rock formation possesses. In our country, 50% of the pomza reserve is Bitlis, 22% Kayseri, 17% Nevşehir, 6% Van, 1.8% Isparta, 1.2% Karaman, 1% Kars, and 1% Pain. In this study, the high plasticity effect of the pumps of Bitlis, Manisa Kula and Isparta Karakaya region was compared.
