Türkiye’de 1950 yılı genel seçimleri, “Beyaz İhtilal” olarak adlandırılmaktadır. Bu kavramın kullanılma sebebi, Türkiye’de tek partili dönemin demokratik bir seçimle sonlanması ve henüz kuruluş aşamasındaki genç bir partinin iktidarı devralmasıdır. Demokrat Parti’nin, Türkiye’de tek partili rejimin biraz da baskı unsuru ile uygulamaya çalıştığı politikaları köklü bir şekilde değiştirdiği söylenebilir. İlk dönemdeki dışa kapalı, korumacı ve tarafsız devlet anlayışı yerine; özellikle Amerika ve Batı Bloku çevresinde yeni bir “cephe bulma arayışı” ile sürdürülen bu dönemde, Türkiye’nin tercihi NATO’dan yana olmuştur. Böyle bir dönemde ekonomik, siyasi ve toplumsal anlamda yaşanan tüm gelişmeler, dönemin iktidar partisinin tercihleri doğrultusunda önemli değişimler geçirmiştir. Bu bakımdan Türkiye’de 1950’li yıllar hem ekonomik hem de siyasal ve sosyal alanda önemli bir kilometre taşı olarak görülen özel bir dönemdir. Türkiye’de 1950’li yılların, ekonomik, siyasi ve toplumsal boyutu üzerine yoğunlaşan bu araştırmada hem ilgili yılları hem de yakın tarihi ilgilendiren önemli örnekler üzerinde durulmuştur. Bu çalışmada mali sosyolojik ve toplumsal boyutta: “Amerikan yardımlarının sosyo ekonomik analizi ve tarım sektörünün dönüşümü”, “Kore Savaşı ve NATO üyeliği: Türklerin Batı Dünyasına girişi”, “popülizmin Türk siyasi ve ekonomi tarihine girişi”, “göç, kentleşme ve imar faaliyetleri üzerine: gecekondunun yükselişi ve İstanbul imarı tartışmaları”, “Demokrat Parti’nin göçmenlere yönelik politikaları: “Balkan göçmenleri”, “ezanın Türkçe olarak okunması kararının toplumsal etkisi” ve “tüketim alışkanlıklarının dönüşümü: kahvaltı, kahve ve çay örneği” konuları araştırılmıştır. Bu bakımdan ele alınan örnekler çerçevesinde, dönemin mali sosyolojik tahliline yönelik değerlendirmeler yapılmıştır.

This research, which focuses on the economic, political and social dimension of the 1950s in Turkey, focuses on important examples of both relevant years and recent history. In this study in the financial and social dimension: " American aid social and economic analysis and the transformation of the agricultural sector", "Korean War and NATO membership: the entrance of the Turks into the Western world", "The entrance of populism into the Turkish political and economic history", "On the river, urbanization and construction activities: the rise of the gecond and Istanbul construction discussions", "Democratic Party's policies towards migrants: "Balkan migrants", "The social impact of the decision to read the island in Turkish" and “ Conversion of consumption habits: breakfast, coffee and tea examples" The subjects have been investigated. In the framework of the examples discussed, the financial sociological assessment of the period was made.
The general elections of 1950 in Turkey are called the "White Revolution". In this respect, within the framework of the examples discussed, evaluations were made for the sociological analysis of the period's public finance.
