Toplumsal cinsiyet biyolojik cinsiyetten bağımsız olarak kadın ve erkeğin toplum içindeki rol ve sorumluluklarını toplumsal olarak belirleme olarak tanımlanabilir. Toplumsal cinsiyetin algı ve tutumlarının eşitlikçi olmaması kadın-erkek arasında ayrımcılığa ve cinsiyet eşitsizliğine neden olur. Bu algı ve tutumlar sosyalleşme ile birlikte önce ailede sonra okul da şekillenir. Bu çerçevede bu araştırmanın amacı öğretmenlerin toplumsal cinsiyet tutum düzeylerinin ve bu tutumları etkileyen faktörlerin belirlenmesi olarak ortaya konmuştur. Genel tarama modeli kullanılarak yapılan bu araştırma nicel bir araştırmadır. Araştırmaya 453 öğretmen katılmıştır. Araştırmada 2 adet veri toplama aracı kullanılmıştır. Bu araçlardan birincisi sosyo-demografik bilgi formudur. Diğeri ise Toplumsal Cinsiyet Rol ve Tutum Ölçeğidir (TCRTÖ). Araştırmaya katılan öğretmenlerin % 63,’ü kadın ve % 47’si sınıf öğretmenidir. Öğretmenlerin TCRTÖ’den aldığı ortalama puan 166’dır. Buna göre öğretmenlerin genel olarak eşitlikçi toplumsal cinsiyet tutumlarına sahip olduğunu söylemek mümkündür. Öğretmenlerin toplumsal cinsiyet tutumlarını etkileyen faktörler arasında da cinsiyet, yaş, çocukluğun geçtiği yer, baba mesleği, kardeş sayısı, anne eğitim durumu, evlenme şekli, eşin eğitim durumu, eşin çalışma ve kazanç durumu sayılabilir. Cinsiyet burada toplumsal cinsiyet tutumundaki en önemli gösterge olduğundan erkek öğretmenlerin daha eşitlikçi toplumsal cinsiyet tutumları geliştirebilmeleri için etkileşimli eğitim çalışmalarının düzenlenmesinde fayda vardır. Ayrıca kadınların eğitim düzeylerinin artması etraflarındaki kişilerin toplumsal cinsiyet tutumlarını olumlu etkilemektedir. Bu nedenle kadınların eğitim olanaklarından erkeklerle eşit şartlarda faydalanmaları sağlanmalıdır.
Social gender can be defined as a social determination of the role and responsibilities of women and men in society, regardless of biological gender. The lack of gender perceptions and attitudes in society leads to discrimination and gender inequality between women and men. These perceptions and attitudes, together with socialization, first in the family and then in the school, are shaped. In this context, the purpose of this study is to determine the social gender attitudes of teachers and the factors that affect these attitudes. This research made using the general scan model is a quantitative research. 453 teachers participated in the study. In the study, two data collection tools were used. The first of these tools is the social-demographic form of information. The other is the social role and attitude scale (TCRTÖ). 63 percent of the teachers who participated in the study were women and 47 percent were class teachers. The average score received by the teachers is 166. According to this, it is possible to say that teachers generally have equal social gender attitudes. Factors affecting the social gender attitudes of teachers can include gender, age, place where childhood passes, father's profession, brother's number, mother's educational status, marriage form, spouse's educational status, spouse's work and earnings status. Since gender here is the most important indicator of social gender attitude, it is beneficial in organizing interactive educational studies so that male teachers can develop more equal social gender attitudes. The increase in women’s educational levels also positively affects the social gender attitudes of people around them. Therefore, women should be able to take advantage of their educational opportunities in equal conditions as men.
Regardless of biological sex, gender can be defined as determining roles and responsibilities of men and woman in the society socially. Perception and attitude of gender not being equal lead to discrimination and gender inequality between men and women. These perceptions and attitudes are shaped first in the family then at school along with socialization. Within this scope, the aim of the research is determining level of gender attitudes of teachers and the faktors affecting these attitudes. This research which is done by using general survey model is a quantitative research. Two data collection tools are used in this research. The first of these tools is socio-demographic data form. The other is Gender Role and Atitude Scale (TCRTÖ). % 63 of the teachers who participated in this research are women and % 47 are primary school teachers. The average score which is received by the teachers from TCRTÖ is 166. Accordingly it is possible to state that teachers have egalitarian gender attitudes in general. The factors influencing gender attitudes of teachers are sex, age, area where childhood was spent, father’s occupation, number of siblings, mother’s educational backround, form of marriage, spouse’s educational backround, spouse’s working conditions and income. Interactive educational practices should be held in order male teachers to develop more equal gender attitudes since sex is the most important indicator of gender attitudes. Besides the increase in education level of women affect gender attitude of people around them positively. For this reason, it should be ensured that women benefit from education opportunities on equal terms with men.
