Abstract:

Purpose: Inma is defined as the leading cause of severe disability and addiction that affects daily life activities (GYA). The study aims to investigate the cultural adaptation and psychometric characteristics of the Frenchay Activities Index (FAI) translation to Turkish, which measures the frequency of GYAs in infection patients. Tools and Methods: FAI's Turkish translation was completed as in the international guidelines for 50 infertile patients (14 women, average age: 62,97 ± 13,5); the sociodemographic information form, Barthel Index (BI), Nottingham Extended GYA Scale (NÖ) and FAI were filled. Two weeks later, the FAI test was repeated again for analysis. The statistical analysis was done with SSPS 21.0 and p<0,05 was statically meaningful. Results: The duration of the disease was unchanged by gender (p>0,05), the Brunnstrom lower extremity level, in FAI, BII and NSA surveys, the level of independence in the daily life activities of male incidents was higher than the female incidents (p<0,01). The Turkish version of the FAI was determined to have excellent internal consistency (Cronbach α ratio = 0.845) and test-up test reliability [interclass correlation ratio (ICC = 0.981)]. Furthermore, it was found that the FAI was in a high level of relationship with the BI and NÖ (p<0,001). The result: the established Turkish version of the FAI has a high level of structural validity, with excellent internal consistency and test reliability.
