Abstract:

The most important work of Sheikh Gâlib is Hüsnü Aşk; a rich mesnevî in order to deal with the Ottoman poetry birds. The birds processed in the Divan poetry tradition have also expressed their different aspects in the poet's advice, which is influenced by the Sebk-i Indian stream. The purpose of this study is to show out how the Ottoman poetry birds were treated in the Hüsnü Love mesnevîs of Sheikh Gâlib. The study was based on the book Sheikh Gâlib Hüsnü Love Text, Translation Notes and Explanations by Muhammad Nur Doğan. First of all, it will be studied by text, scan and evaluation methods, it will determine how birds are treated in the event line in the mushroom, and the aspects that are similar to the traditional use of the birds in the Gâlib will be revealed and separate from this use. The love of love contains many layers of meaning that extend from the subject to the abstract. These layers are open to various comments and readings; they also provide a situation related to the real world. In tradition, mostly with positive images and in the world of imagination, the canyon bird was used in this mesnevite to criticize the poet's disturbances that were in comparison with the greatest speakers of the time, while they did not produce anything, spending time in the coffee corners of Ottoman Istanbul. This example is one of the most impressive examples of transitions between abstract and concrete meanings in the mesh. As a final goal, these multi- layers and transitions in the poems of Galib will be tried to be addressed and explained on the basis of the birds.

Hüsn ü Aşk, considered to be the most important work of Şeyh Gâlib, is also a prosperous masnavi in the way of its reviewing of birds of Ottoman poetry. The birds rewieved in the tradition of Divan poetry, have appeared in a different form in the portraiture of the poet in the impact of Sebk-i Hindî movement. The goal of this work is revealing how the birds of Ottoman poetry have reviewed in the masnavi of Hüsn ü Aşk by Şeyh Gâlib. This work grounds on the book named “Şeyh Gâlib Hüsn ü Aşk Metin, Düzyazıya Çeviri Notlar ve Açıklamalar” which is prepared by Muhammed Nur Doğan. Firstly, the text will be investigated by the methods of scanning and analyze, it will be appointed how the birds are reviewed through the plot, and the similar and different aspects of Gâlib on birds with/than the traditional using  will be revealed. Hüsn ü Aşk has lots of semantic stratums extending from the abstract to concrete. This semantic straums are open to various readings and interpretations, and also connected with the real world. The Kaknüs bird which has been mostly pictured in a positive imagery in the tradition, is used in this masnavi to embody and criticize the poetasters who spend their time in the coffee shops of Ottoman İstanbul without doing anything notwithstanding seeing themselves as the rivals of the masters of poetry of their time. This example is one of the most striking examples of the transition between abstract and concrete meanings in masnavi. As the final goal, this semantic straums and transitions of Gâlib’s poetry will be trying to explain based on birds issue.
